Numerical Reasoning

Numerical reasoning tests are assessments designed to test your ability to understand and process figures which will usually be presented in tables or graphs. Almost all jobs involving money, such as accountancy and banking, will require applicants to undertake such a test. The tests themselves will often allow you to use a calculator (although not always) and are designed to see whether or not you can process numerical information in the correct way.

When you are going for a job you may well be told in advance that there will be a psychometric test to gauge your ability in numerical reasoning, however this might not always be the case, so when going for any job where there is a chance that your numerical reasoning may be tested, it is wise to get practice in beforehand so you are prepared.

For many jobs that will use a psychometric test to gauge your ability in numerical reasoning you won’t need any special mathematical skills, and rather than being a skilled mathematician you will simply be required to be able to understand the information given to you and deal with it in the correct way.

It is therefore very easy to become competent at such things, even if you have had very little experience doing such tasks in the past. Our online psychometric tests can very quickly help turn you from someone with very little understanding of the tasks involved, to someone who will fly through a numerical reasoning test without any problems at all.
