Once you find out that there is going to be a psychometric test or aptitude test at your job interview, how can you best prepare to ensure you perform to your full potential?
Know the tests
When you are invited to an interview that includes psychometric testing, you have a right to know what type of assessments will be used. Knowing this information in advance can put your mind at ease and, as some employers may also provide example questions, it can also help you to get a better understanding of the process involved.
Be prepared
There are a few simple things which you can do to improve your chances at any assessment-based interview. Probably the most important thing to do is to get plenty of sleep the night before, as being overly-tired may well affect your performance. When you are at the venue, try to relax. Remember, you have been invited because the employer is interested in learning more about you; they have not invited you there to try and catch you out.
Practice
If you know in advance the types of tests you will be taking then doing plenty of practice can help to make you more confident. To achieve this, you can source some books which have example questions in, or you can use the internet and access the many practice tests which are available online.
